The physical body is a miracle, with an unfathomable capacity to renew and heal. Every day, cell repair and renewal occurs. It starts with the body’s innate intelligence detecting inflammation, injuries, mutated, defected and dead cells; it triggers a cascade of enzyme activities throughout the physiological systems, that ignite a multi-level and simultaneous response including opening up particular gene sequences, increased mitochondrial activities, immune responses from macrophages destroying the unwanted cells; the lymphatic system, blood, liver and kidneys focusing on the elimination of these, cell repair, to name a few…
Yet, why do people experience physical pain when the body is Divine Intelligence?
Pain as a result of surgery, broken bones, sprained ankles, etc. is part of the natural healing process. The immune system creates inflammation of the injured tissue to slow and even stop movement so that the cell repair and healing can take place. It is important to listen to your body and rest so that no complications, like extensive scar tissue, chronic inflammation, chronic pain, and so forth manifest. Meditation, deep breathing, and listening to your body supports the healing as well as gaining a possible understanding of the deeper reasons for why you have created a particular situation for yourself.
Reoccurring and chronic physical pain is directly linked to unaddressed trauma of the soul, emotional and mental wounds, and ancestral and family suffering, whether they took place in this life or another and regardless if the ordeal is recent and ongoing or has occurred years ago. When deep hurt, continuous abuse, neglect, mistreatment and shock due to traumatic events or any continuous stress is not addressed but rather suppressed and hidden behind coping and avoidance mechanisms, your body becomes the container, carrying your distress of any kind.
Over time, these wounds accumulate until they create disharmonies on a cellular level. Eventually, physical pain manifests. It’s the calling of your body, asking you to pay attention and to stop avoiding. Instead, embrace the discomfort and feel what is buried underneath.
So often, people with reoccurring or chronic pain seek out different kinds of treatments that might bring temporary relief, yet those will not go deep enough to uncover the roots and dissolve the disharmonies caused by suppressed suffering and conditioning. Even pain medication extends the avoidance by bringing temporary relief. If the physical pain is silenced, it will manifest more forcefully somewhere else until truly taken care of.
Nobody likes pain. Society abhors it. So many drugs are available – prescription wise and illegally – to escape it. The mind stays busy to deflect from feeling the imprisoned emotions within you. Technology keeps one hooked in the instant entertainment and information cycle. The simple truth is that most of humanity is afraid of pain.
Feeling pain does not have to be traumatizing, if we embrace it and listen within. It does not have to trigger more emotional, mental, physical and energetic contractions or suffering. Facing and meeting what lies underneath can be profoundly liberating and will restore well-beingness. Rather, perceive your physical pain as a long lost friend that is in need of your attention and love. It contains a part of you that wants to come home and be unified with the essence you are.
